DUTTY MOONSHINE

EP

The idea behind the series, is that each song is a collaboration with another artist - so that every track has influences from other genres and personal styles. Jazz took influences from everywhere creating sounds such as Swing, Bossa Nova, Be-Bop and Gypsy Jazz so why shouldn't this new movement of Electro Swing also harness the popular sounds of a new generation of music lovers.

On just this EP you can hear a wide scope of influences:

*  The pioneer of Chap-Hop Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, with a background in 90's Big Beat, influenced the sound of "Fancy a Tipple" in a way not done before in this ever growing scene.

*  Scubaroots, a festival band of Funk, Ska and DnB helped create a feel good sunny circusy Swing vibe in "Elephant in the Room".

*  JFB brought his bass heavy ghetto funk vibes and DMC titles to the table with "Move Ya".

*  Kitten and the Hip helped keep the sound more familiar to Electro Swing fans with "Gypsytronic" but wow what a sound, gypsy synths.....

Dutty Moonshine started of as one of the UK's first Electro Swing acts but with a background in many arts prior to this such as graphic design, circus, dance and of course musical experiences in other styles such as funk and DnB, remaining a standard Electro Swing act was never going to happen.

Their style reflects the love of fun, the live sets performed on 4 decks and a mic, can take you on a bpm journey of 100 to 210, classic acapella's accompanied by modern day synths soaked in bass with a healthy splashing of crowd participation, high energy performing and of course a running constant of vintage audio mean that Dutty Moonshine after 2 years of non-stop gigging have only just begun....
